The speakers

From one battery speaker to a full party PA.

Every speaker here is PAT tested and ready to go out, and each one’s day rate is on its product page.

Getting the sound right

Most sound problems aren’t about volume.

They’re about where the speakers go, how the speeches are handled and what the venue will allow. Tell us the room and the running order, and we’ll tell you what you need, including when that’s less than you asked for. Bands and bigger rooms: see PA and audio hire and PA hire in Norwich.

  • More speakers, well placed — two in the right places beat one turned up, and sound far better
  • Up on stands — at head height the sound carries across the room instead of blasting the front row
  • A plan for the speeches — a wireless handheld, coverage that reaches the back tables and levels set before the first toast
  • Noise limits — if your venue or licence has one, or a dB limiter fitted, tell us and we’ll spec around it
  • Power where the speakers stand — battery speakers need no mains at all, and our battery power station runs a ceremony PA silently for hours
  • Weather — the SOUNDBOKS is weather-resistant and the EVERSE 8 is IP43; mains speakers stay under cover

Before you ask

Speaker hire questions.

Can I hire a SOUNDBOKS?
Yes. We hire the SOUNDBOKS Gen 4: 126 dB on battery power, a swappable battery good for roughly 40 hours at moderate volume, Bluetooth with TeamUp linking, and two combo inputs that take a microphone or a small mixer. It comes with a charged battery fitted and a charger, with a spare battery on request for long days. Collect it from our base near Diss, or we deliver and set up across Norfolk and Suffolk.
Which speakers work without mains power?
The SOUNDBOKS Gen 4 runs for roughly 40 hours at moderate volume and the EV EVERSE 8 for roughly 12 hours. For speeches outdoors, the Battery-Powered Audio Bundle has battery speakers, a wireless microphone and stands, with no mains needed at all. For a bigger system where there’s no power, we arrange a generator as part of the build.
What size speakers do I need for 100 people?
For around 100 guests with music and a DJ, two 10- or 12-inch powered speakers on stands plus a subwoofer, a small mixer and at least one wireless microphone. For speeches and background music only, one EV EVOLVE 50M column covers around 100 to 150 people. Guest numbers are a starting point, so tell us the venue and we’ll size it properly.
Can I play music from my phone?
Yes. The SOUNDBOKS, the EVERSE 8 and the EVOLVE 50M all stream over Bluetooth. The ZLX speakers take a phone or laptop through their stereo 3.5 mm input, and we can add the right lead for anything else.
Can I plug a microphone into a hired speaker?
Yes. The SOUNDBOKS takes a mic in its combo inputs, the EVERSE 8 has a two-channel mixer with mic and line inputs, the EVOLVE 50M has an eight-channel mixer and the ZLX speakers have two inputs with mic/line selection. For speeches, we pair them with the Electro-Voice RE3 wireless handheld.
Can I collect the speakers myself?
Yes. Dry hire is collected from our base near Diss. Everything goes out PAT tested, in cases or covers, with the right cables and a straightforward setup guide, and we’re happy to spend ten minutes on the phone talking a first-timer through it. Or we deliver, set up and collect, with delivery priced by distance.
What if our venue has a noise limit?
Tell us when you enquire. The SOUNDBOKS is genuinely loud, and plenty of venues and licences have a limit or a dB limiter fitted. We’ll spec the system around it, usually with speakers spread around the room rather than two turned up at the front.
How much does speaker hire cost?
Each speaker’s day rate is on its product page. Delivery is priced by distance and shown in your quote before you book. Send the date, the venue and roughly how many guests, and we’ll come back with a quote within one working day.
How far ahead should I book?
For Saturdays in summer and in December, four to six months is sensible. Midweek and off-peak dates are often available at much shorter notice, so it’s always worth asking.
Which areas do you cover?
We’re based near Diss on the Norfolk–Suffolk border and deliver across Norfolk and Suffolk, including Norwich, Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Thetford and King’s Lynn. Further afield on request; see areas we cover.
