— 01   Overview

The brief.

The Peterborough Community Business Awards is a 200-guest black-tie evening celebrating local businesses across a full programme of award categories. The organisers needed a single production partner to build and run the entire show environment — the stage the night was staged on, the visuals behind it, the sound in the room, and the second-by-second sequencing that keeps an awards night moving.

We supplied and operated the complete package: staging and backdrop, rigging, lighting and effects, a full audio and microphone system, an LED wall, a bespoke branded show deck and a fully cued running order operated live — so the organisers could host their event rather than run it.

— 02   The challenge

A long programme, no dead air.

  • Building a complete stage, backdrop and rig into a hotel function room.
  • A packed awards programme with many categories, each needing its own on-screen sequence.
  • Even, feedback-free audio for speeches across a 200-guest seated dinner.
  • Tight transitions between hosting, winners walking up, and the next category — with no gaps on screen.
  • Live operation with zero margin for error, from setup through to a clean de-rig.

— 05   The outcome

A show that ran itself.

The evening ran cleanly from doors to final award. With 203 cues sequenced in advance and operated live, every category, host segment and winner moment hit the screen exactly when it needed to — no gaps, no scramble, no dead air.

The organisers were free to host and enjoy their own event, confident the production was handled. The result was a polished, broadcast-feel awards night that looked far bigger than the room.
