How many uplighters do I need?

It depends on the size and shape of the room rather than a fixture count. As a rough guide, a typical marquee or function room takes somewhere between twelve and twenty for an even wash without gaps. Send us the venue plan and we’ll spec from that, and we’ll say so if fewer will look better.

Do uplighters need mains power?

Not the battery ones. The Chauvet Freedom Flex H4 IP uplighters run on battery for up to 20 hours per charge, with no cables at all, and come six to a charging case or as singles. Our 200 W and outdoor uplighters are mains powered.

Can uplighters go outside?

Yes. The battery uplighters are IP-rated for outdoor use. Our 120 W and 240 W outdoor uplighters are weatherproof and can stay out all weekend, lighting trees, courtyards, marquee walls and building fronts.

Can you match our wedding or brand colour?

Yes. Every uplighter we hire mixes its own colour, so we can match a wedding theme or a company colour and hold it consistent across every fixture in the room.

Can the colour change during the evening?

Yes. Set one colour for the day, then switch to something livelier for the party: colour fades, sound-to-light, or scenes we pre-program for you to trigger yourself.

Can we run uplighting without an operator?

Yes. The Transcension SDC-6 controls up to six fixtures with no programming, and the Showtec TR-512 records a look and plays it back all night with no desk. For cues tied to a running order, like a first dance, an operator earns their fee.

Can I collect uplighters myself?

Yes. Dry hire is collected from our base near Diss, PAT tested, with the battery uplighters in their charging case. Or we deliver, place them and set the colours, then collect, with delivery priced by distance.
