Stage to showroom
to warehouse.
I came to AV the long way round. I started out in the Film & TV industry, working for the family company. Later I moved into selling audio-visual equipment to production companies and venues — which meant I learned the kit inside out, and got to know the people behind every brand.
Before all of that, I was in a band. The investing-in-equipment habit started there, and somewhere between rehearsals and load-ins it turned into a real love for live sound — for getting the room right, for the moment when the system disappears and the music or the speech just lands.
MAV Hire grew out of that path. After years on the buying-and-spec side, I knew which kit was worth the money, which corners other firms cut, and how often "AV" gets sold as a commodity instead of treated as a craft. Most of our competitors are renting boxes. We're delivering a result. That's the difference, and it's why this exists.
These days I run the business with my partner Zuzanna. I lead on the technical side and I'm on-site for most jobs. Zuzanna runs operations and clients — the planning, logistics, crew rota and most of the conversations you'll have before and after the event. Between us, there's always someone who can answer your call.
