Worth knowing before you book

• A column array throws sound evenly down a room rather than blasting the front rows, which is why it suits dinners and conferences where people still need to talk.
• As a guide, one covers around a hundred to a hundred and fifty people for speech and background music. A second unit is usually better than pushing one harder.
• It looks like furniture rather than production kit — worth knowing where the room has to stay smart.
• Needs a mains socket. For anywhere without power, look at battery systems instead.
