Set-up takes seconds with Sennheiser's app, and the digital link is free of the hiss and companding artefacts of older analogue radio mics — a step up when the vocal quality really matters.

Worth knowing before you book

• The mute switch is useful for a host who moves between talking and listening, but tell whoever is holding it — a muted mic is the most common "it's not working" call.
• Our standard wireless handheld for speeches is the Electro-Voice RE3; choose this Sennheiser where you want the digital system or a second handheld on a different system.
• Pairs with the EW-D ME2 lapel system for a presenter plus a handheld for Q&A from the floor.
• Plugs straight into one of our powered speakers for a simple speech system, or into a mixer when there are several sources.
