The Electro-Voice RE520 is a supercardioid handheld condenser for singers who want more detail and air than a dynamic mic gives. The tight pattern keeps feedback under control, so it holds up on stage as well as it does on a quiet acoustic set.

Worth knowing before you book
- Being a condenser, it needs phantom power, so it won't work plugged straight into a speaker that doesn't provide it — run it through one of our mixers.
- It's at its best on lead vocals, acoustic acts and spoken word, where the extra detail is audible.
- For speeches and hosts we'd normally suggest our Electro-Voice RE3 wireless handheld, so the speaker isn't tied to a cable.
