AV & event hire · Attleborough
Sound, lighting and staging in Attleborough.
A fast-growing A11 market town fourteen miles from our door. Weddings at country-house and barn venues nearby, events in Queen's Square, community nights, school productions and corporate days around Snetterton — delivered, set up and collected, or dry hired if you'd rather run it yourself.
Getting there
Practically next door.
Attleborough is about fourteen miles north-west of our base at Roydon, near Diss — around twenty-five minutes cross-country through Old Buckenham. It is one of the closest towns we serve, and that closeness is useful in ways that do not show up on a quote. We can pop over for a site visit without it becoming a day out, take the earliest load-in a venue offers, come back the same night to collect, and if a cable fails during a busy Saturday, a replacement is half an hour away rather than half a day.
Attleborough has also grown quickly. New housing on the edge of town and a railway station with direct trains to Norwich and Cambridge have brought plenty of new residents, and the events calendar reflects it — children's parties, family celebrations, school events and community fundraisers alongside the weddings and business events.
Delivery to Attleborough is a short, low-cost line in the quote. Dry hire from Roydon is quicker still for anyone already heading this way.
Venues in and around Attleborough
Town hall, parish church, race circuit.
Attleborough's venues range from a medieval church and an Elizabethan coaching inn to a national motor-racing circuit and an alternative wedding venue beside a zoo. Here are real ones in and around the town, and what each tends to need.
- St Mary's Church, Church StreetThe partly Norman parish church, famous for one of the finest medieval rood screens in Norfolk, hosts concerts and the parish summer fête. In a church like this the goal is to support speech and music without anyone noticing the equipment — slim speakers, radio mics for readers, and cable runs that respect the building. A portable hearing loop is often welcome.
- Attleborough Town Hall, Queen's SquareThe former post office on the square now serves as the town hall. Queen's Square itself is the setting for the weekly Thursday market and the Christmas light switch-on. Square events need a compact, robust PA, and power that does not depend on borrowing a shop's socket.
- The Griffin HotelA historic coaching inn in the centre of town, rebuilt after a fire in 1559 and still trading. Old inn function rooms are low-ceilinged and cosy — the right system is small, well placed and turned down, not big and loud.
- Sherbourne House, Norwich RoadA Georgian country house in Attleborough offered for exclusive-use weddings, with civil ceremonies in its indoor suites or a garden gazebo and a conservatory bar for the evening. Outdoor ceremonies call for battery speakers and wireless mics so there are no cables across the lawn.
- Applewood Hall, BanhamAn alternative wedding and events venue next to Banham Zoo, a few miles south of the town, with dining for up to around 250. Bigger rooms with long dance floors benefit from proper dancefloor lighting and a PA with the headroom for a full evening.
- Snetterton CircuitThe race circuit just south-west of Attleborough off the A11 hosts national championship race weekends and corporate hospitality. Hospitality areas and team events need presentation kit — screens, a lectern, radio mics — plus PA that can cut through the noise of the circuit.
We list these to help you plan, not to claim them as clients. Every venue has its own load-in, noise and power rules — we confirm them with the venue before the day.

Party hire, plainly
What a house or hall party actually needs.
Plenty of the enquiries we get are for birthdays, anniversaries and family parties, and people often worry they are about to be sold a concert rig. They are not. For most parties of 50 to 120 people, the right setup is a pair of good speakers on stands — with a subwoofer if there will be dancing — a small mixer or DJ controller, one wireless microphone for speeches, and a few lights for the dance floor. That fits in a car, sets up in half an hour, and sounds far better than a large Bluetooth speaker pushed to its limit.
What makes the difference is placement. Put the speakers at the dance-floor end of the room, angled slightly inwards and raised above head height, and keep the quieter end for people who want to talk. Test the microphone where the speeches will actually happen, because feedback almost always comes from someone walking in front of a speaker. We will set it up like that for you if we deliver, and explain it if you collect. Tell us the room, the number of guests and the music, and we will recommend the smallest system that does the job well.
Common questions
AV hire in Attleborough, answered.
How close are you to Attleborough?
Very. We are about fourteen miles away at Roydon near Diss — roughly twenty-five minutes. That means site visits are easy, early load-ins and same-night collections are normal, and if anything is needed during an event we can get it to you quickly.
What does a party PA for 100 people in Attleborough involve?
Usually two speakers on stands, a subwoofer if there will be dancing, a small mixer or DJ controller, a wireless microphone for speeches and some dancefloor lighting. It sets up in about half an hour. We can deliver and set it up, or you can collect it as dry hire.
Can you supply corporate hospitality events near Snetterton?
Yes. Hospitality and team events need presentation kit — screens or an LED wall, a lectern and radio mics — plus a PA that can be heard in a noisy outdoor setting. Tell us the location, the running order and the number of guests and we will plan around it.
Do you supply weddings at venues around Attleborough?
Yes — country houses, barns, garden marquees and hotels. Typical wedding kit is ceremony microphones, a PA for speeches and the first dance, and uplighting. Outdoor ceremonies use battery speakers and wireless mics so there are no cables across the lawn.
Can you support a church concert or fête at St Mary's?
Yes. For a historic church we use slim speakers and radio mics with neat, respectful cable runs, and can add a portable hearing loop. For a summer fête, a weatherproof PA with a mic for announcements is usually all that's needed.
How far ahead should we book?
Summer Saturdays and December weekends go first, so four to six months is sensible for those. Because we are so close, short-notice and midweek bookings are often possible — it is always worth asking.
